"Everyone was muted, and no pressure to reveal our identities. My husband and I were able to receive tips and encouragement from the comfort of our home. I appreciate you giving personal examples of challenges in your marriage. It helped us to connect with you, allowing us to open our hearts and mind. You were transparent and relatable. The price was affordable. You allowed enough break out times. The format was easy to understand. Dr. Wyatt, thank you!
The Couples Retreat Online Covers:
1-Establishing a Covenant Foundation:
There are two ways to approach a marriage. First, like a contract where you're committed as long as your needs are met. Second, like a long-term commitment knowing there will be seasons of summer and winter. The long-term, covenant approach creates stronger safety, which leads to deeper emotional and physical intimacy.
2-Owning Your Brokenness:
Do you notice flaws in your partner more than you notice your own? You're not alone, most of us do. This step reverses that trend and helps you identify your shortcomings and how you're contributing to the issues in your relationship. Doing so creates a sense of humility and equality in the relationship.
3-Learning to Share Power:
Do you and your partner both have an equal voice in your relationship? Are you both open to one another's influence? Do you consult on all decisions impacting your marriage? If you do, then you're doing an excellent job sharing power and you're rare. Most couples struggle doing this and this step will show you how.
4-Developing Emotional Attachment:
The goal of any good marriage is a good friendship. However, cultivating a solid friendship requires intentionally cultivating emotional intimacy, spending quality time together, working through resentments, and having constructive conflict resolution skills. This step is loaded with tools to set you up for success.
5-Cultivating Sexual Fireworks:
Sex should be the best in marriage! However, it's often wrought with difficulty because of differences in libido, lack of emotional connection, and unhealed sexual trauma. This step will help you navigate the tricky path to sexual fulfillment in your marriage in a way that is mutually enjoyable for both of you.
6-Staying in Love:
We fall in love hoping to always stay in love. However, most couples fall out of love and don't know what to do about it. This step will uncover the secrets to falling back in love and staying in love. After all, no one signs up for marriage hoping to be unhappy one day. We all want to be happy and learning how to stay in love is critical for that.
"My husband and I have a good, solid marriage, and we want to keep it that way! We try to attend couples retreats every few years! We love working on our marriage and showing our kids how amazing marriage can be! Thank you Dr. Wyatt for a great online conference for my husband and I! Loved it! We left with more love for each other and some fun new things to keep our marriage on track!" R.C.-previous attendant

"I appreciate him sharing real world examples from his own marriage and letting us know that his marriage has challenges as well. It made it easier to relate to him as a person and not just a marriage therapist. I think the two evening format was great. It gave us a chance to digest and discuss what we learned on the first night before diving into the second session. We both really appreciated your approach. You got us to talk about some difficult things in a safe environment. (for us, because we're both non-confrontational, every subject is difficult!)" -previous attendant
"It was honest and straightforward. He touched on the subjects most challenging in a relationship with respect and ease." -previous attendant
"Been married 20 years. I was very impressed with Dr. Wyatt's couples seminar. He was very prompt, vulnerable, covered a lot of valuable topics, and gave couples plenty of time to talk through the topics with one another. I'd highly recommend it!" H.R.-previous attendant
